Cyprus has opted to allocate €64 million to strengthen water-resource management under the EU’s mid-cycle reallocation of cohesion funds for 2021–2027.
At the European level, €34.6 billion is being redirected toward competitiveness, defence readiness, energy security and natural-resource resilience in response to mounting geopolitical and climate pressure.
For Cyprus, the €64 million comes from its total €969 million envelope and is specifically targeted at water resilience, an area under persistent stress due to environmental conditions and climate change.
Implementation of the revised programmes is coupled with more favourable financing terms designed to accelerate project delivery and produce tangible economic and social outcomes.
