The Cyprus Football Association has extended the contract of national men’s team coach Apostolos Mantzios until January 2029.

Detailed Announcement:

“The Cyprus Football Association announces the extension of coach Apostolos Mantzios’ contract until January 2029.

His current contract was set to end this coming January.

The CFA appreciates Mr. Mantzios’ work and wants to show support and trust. So, they decided to extend his contract early, along with his assistants.

With this news, our national team will continue under Mr. Mantzios for the Nations League 2026 – 2027, the EURO 2028 qualifiers, and the Nations League 2027 – 2028.

CFA President Charis Loizidis shared this agreement with the national team players before their first training session today for friendly matches against Belarus (March 26) and Moldova (March 30).

“The coach’s current contract was about to expire soon. We thought it was best to extend it now for a clear future for both the coach and players. We have goals and visions for the national team. We want to move forward. I believe we are ready,” said Mr. Loizidis to the media before training began.”
