Cyprus’ industrial sector closed 2025 on a clear upward path, with annual turnover rising by 5% compared with 2024, according to the Statistical Service.

In December, the turnover index reached 139.8 points (2021=100), up 4.9% year on year. Manufacturing was the main growth engine, with its index climbing to 146.8 points, a 7.1% annual increase.

Mining and quarrying also recorded gains (+6.0%), while electricity supply and water/waste-recovery activity declined by 3.8% and 6.8% respectively.

At sub-sector level, machinery and equipment manufacturing, along with motor vehicle and transport equipment activity, posted the strongest rises (both +42.8%). Wood products (+23.8%), furniture and other manufacturing (+17.0%), and refined petroleum/chemicals/pharmaceuticals (+11.6%) also moved higher.

Domestic turnover increased by 5.1% for the full year, while export turnover rose 4.6%, reinforcing manufacturing’s role as a core pillar of industrial performance.
