The Department of Antiquities of the Deputy Ministry of Culture CY announces that on Saturday, February 7, 2026, an event will be held at the Cyprus Museum. This event is part of Cyprus assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026 and marks the completion of upgrades to the museum’s permanent exhibition.
Specifically, the following will take place:
16:00−16:45 Event for the presentation of the upgraded permanent exhibition of the Cyprus Museum. The event will be addressed by Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou and Director of the Department of Antiquities Dr. George Georgiou.
The addition of significant findings from recent archaeological research, repatriated antiquities, enhanced visual materials, improved lighting, and upgraded display cases have significantly enriched the visitor experience at the island’s most important archaeological museum.
