The exhibition “Agropoetics: Soils/Bodies” kicks off the Cyprus Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. This marks the start of its operations during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026. The opening is set for Thursday, January 29, 2026, and the public can visit from January 30.
The Deputy Ministry of Culture says the exhibition shows art as a way to spark dialogue and promote cultural understanding. It highlights shared European values through a Cypriot artistic lens. Curated by Dr. Elena Parpa, it looks at themes like landscape, nature, earth, and body, connecting local and global ideas.
Over fifty artists from Cyprus are taking part. The exhibition’s name comes from an essay by Portuguese artist Filipa César. It fits into a wider discussion about how humans relate to nature.
The exhibition will also feature a special printed edition, guided tours, artist talks, film screenings, a symposium, and educational programs for students. More details about these activities will be shared soon.
