To celebrate International Forest Day, several environmental information centers in Cyprus are welcoming visitors for free, for three days.
From March 20 to March 22, 2026, you can explore nature and learn about forest conservation at the Troodos Environmental Information Center, the Cavo Greco Environmental Education and Information Center, and the Troodos Botanical Garden ‘A. G. Leventis’, all without paying an entrance fee.
This initiative is organized by the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment. The goal is to connect people with nature and boost environmental awareness.
Operating Hours
During this three-day event, the centers will be open at these times:
- Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
- Saturday & Sunday: 09:00 – 17:00
Why We Celebrate International Forest Day
March 21 is recognized by the United Nations General Assembly as a global day for forests. It aims to highlight the importance of forest ecosystems and promote their protection and sustainable management.
The theme for 2026 is ‘Forests and Economies’, focusing on how forests support both environmental health and economic growth.

The main celebration will happen at the Cavo Greco Environmental Education and Information Center on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
