The symbol of the Cyprus Presidency, the ‘Sun of 27’, is inspired by traditional Lefkara embroidery. It has been proudly displayed since Monday on the front of the European Union Council building at Schuman Square in Brussels. This decoration will stay up for the whole six-month term of the Cypriot presidency.
Each Presidency has its own symbol, which is a special tradition that happens every six months. It marks the country leading the European Union.
This artistic decoration is a constant reminder for everyone working and visiting the building about the country in charge of the 27 member states this semester.
