CYPRUS: A wintry night ahead – Gradual rise in temperatures starting next week
Tonight is expected to be wintry, with occasional local rain possible in various regions of Cyprus.
The weather will initially be generally clear, although there will be increased cloudiness locally, first in the northern and eastern areas and later in the southern regions, which is expected to bring isolated rain to the south during the midday and afternoon hours. Winds will predominantly blow from the northwest to northeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, occasionally becoming strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea in the south will be calm to slightly choppy, while in other coastal areas it will be slightly choppy and locally up to choppy. Temperatures are expected to rise to around 20 degrees inland, about 22 along the coast, and around 10 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
During the evening hours, temperatures will drop to 9 degrees inland, around 12 along the coast, and about 3 degrees in the higher mountainous regions. Winds will mainly blow from the northwest to northeast, initially light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort in the eastern areas, before becoming light at 3 Beaufort later. The sea will be calm to slightly choppy along the southern coast, while in other coastal areas it will gradually become slightly choppy.
Tomorrow, Sunday, and on Monday, there will be locally increased cloudiness mainly in the afternoon, while on Tuesday the weather is expected to be generally clear. Temperatures are anticipated to gradually rise until Tuesday, reaching near average climatic values.
