It’s worrying that drivers are still found under the influence of drugs and alcohol, as shown by police checks last night across Cyprus.
During organized operations and traffic checks, police officers checked many drivers. The goal was to prevent accidents and improve road safety. From these checks, two drivers tested positive for drugs.
Moreover, 160 alcohol tests were done, and ten drivers had an alcohol level over the legal limit.
These cases are very concerning because driving under the influence is a major cause of serious and fatal accidents. The Police stress that checks will keep happening across Cyprus. They aim to stop dangerous behavior on the roads and keep everyone safe.
