The Municipality of Ierokipia has launched a tender for consultant design services, aiming to restore and repurpose listed buildings in the traditional core of Geroskipou.
According to an announcement by Ierokipia mayor Nikos Palios, the initiative focuses on upgrading abandoned and derelict building stock on Thermopylon Street so it can host municipal services.
The same intervention is also expected to pave the way for changing the use of the current town hall. The plan foresees its conversion into a modern cultural centre capable of meeting the growing cultural needs of both the municipality and the local community.
Municipal authorities say the broader objective is to meaningfully revive the historic centre of Geroskipou, strengthening both the area’s identity and long-term sustainability. Based on current prices, the project budget stands at €2,000,000 plus VAT.
