Employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) will hold a three-hour work stoppage on Wednesday, March 18, from 08:00 to 11:00.
EAC unions say the action is a response to serious issues affecting both the authority itself and the wider electricity sector.
In a letter to the EAC Board of Directors, they argue that conditions are worsening and that the lack of state strategic planning, combined with delays by competent bodies, is hurting consumers and the national economy.
The unions also say that although there has been alignment in previous discussions with the board, major problems remain unresolved. They further claim that some state decisions are making the situation more difficult.
They warn that if their concerns are not addressed, the current work stoppage could be followed by escalated action.
