EDUCATION: The meeting time is changing – To avoid inconveniencing students and parents
In response to the strong objections from parents and relevant bodies, the meeting regarding the teacher evaluation plan has been rescheduled to midday, ensuring that students and parents are not affected by the planned work stoppage by OELMEK.
The session will take place at noon, allowing it to conclude outside of school hours and preventing parents from having to alter their schedules to attend the protest. The Ministry of Education emphasizes that it recognizes every worker’s right to strike but deems this particular work stoppage unjustified.
Meanwhile, educational organizations are urged to make decisions regarding their strike, as the change in the Committee’s meeting time allows for a protest outside Parliament after classes end. The President of the Republic reminded that educational reform, particularly the evaluation of teachers, is a key pillar of the Recovery Plan, directly linked to 60 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
The parliamentary discussion on the reform will commence on Wednesday in the relevant Committee, with the executive authority stating its determination to proceed without delays.
