Yet another criminal act took place in the early hours of Tuesday at the historic old port of Limassol, with an improvised explosive device detonated at the entrance of a souvlaki restaurant near the Castle area.
According to initial information, this is the third time the same Russian businessman has been targeted in a criminal attack, intensifying concerns about organised extortion or intimidation activity in Limassol.
The explosion occurred shortly before 5:00 AM, when the area was deserted. The storefront sustained extensive damage, though no injuries were reported.
Limassol Police officers rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed, as police are examining whether this incident is linked to previous attacks.
