The police were called in early this morning after an explosion happened around 1:50 AM in Agios Tychonas. It caused a stir in the area.
Initial reports from officers who arrived on the scene say the blast occurred in an open space, not far from a home and a parking lot. Evidence suggests it was a firecracker thrown with an incendiary device, hinting it might have been intentional.
A 39-year-old man lives in the house with his wife. Luckily, no one was hurt, and there hasn’t been any serious damage found yet. However, we can’t rule out possible damages until further checks are done.
The area was quickly sealed off, and police secured the scene to collect evidence. Investigations will continue in the morning with special teams, and they will talk to the residents and locals as part of their work.
The police are looking at this as an attempted property destruction using explosives and are working hard to find out who did it and why.
