Father Antonios, founder of the Ark of the World, was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months in prison. He was unanimously found guilty of several misdemeanors related to abusive behavior towards the organization’s residents.
The court imposed a stricter sentence compared to the initial decision, finding him guilty of nine acts. Of the sentence, 8 years are to be served, while it was decided that it can be redeemed at 10 euros per day. To remain free, he must pay an amount exceeding 60,000 euros. The other defendants received sentences ranging from 1 year and 8 months to 4 years, 7 months, and 15 days, depending on their level of involvement. For two of them, the sentence was suspended, while for another two, the sentences were deemed convertible at 10 euros per day.

Additionally, the court decided to forward the records to the Prosecutor’s Office for four witnesses who retracted their initial testimonies. It will be examined whether there is an offense of false testimony and possible involvement of other individuals in the retraction of these testimonies. Father Antonios is expected to appear before Justice again on March 18, as a case concerning allegations of indecency is scheduled for trial at the Mixed Jury Court of Athens.
