Fig Tree Bay beach in Protaras has earned a prestigious international distinction, being included among Europe’s top 19 beaches for 2026 as part of the annual Travellers’ Choice Awards by travel platform Tripadvisor.
It is the only Cypriot beach featured in this year’s European list, confirming the enduring value of Fig Tree Bay as a premier seaside destination.
The Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia expressed particular satisfaction with the recognition and thanked the hundreds of thousands of Cypriot and foreign visitors whose reviews and ratings consistently highlight the beach as the best in Cyprus.
The municipality reaffirmed its commitment to continuing upgrades to infrastructure and services in terms of cleanliness, safety, and accessibility, aiming to enhance the visitor experience and strengthen Protaras’s position as one of Europe’s most attractive coastal destinations.
