Over a 24-hour period, from 06:00 on 17 March to 06:00 on 18 March, Cyprus Fire Service crews responded to 25 calls in total. Of these, 14 were fire incidents, 10 were special service calls, and one was recorded as false.
One of the incidents occurred in Germasogeia, Limassol district. At 15:26, emergency services received a call about a fire in an auxiliary house, and two fire engines from Limassol stations were dispatched to the scene.
The fire was brought under control at 15:50, but it caused damage to electrical appliances and equipment. Extensive smoke and heat damage was also recorded in the rest of the property.
The occupants were away when the fire broke out. According to initial investigation findings, the incident appears to have been caused by an electrical fault in an appliance.
