First Lady Philippa Karsera has made her decision to resign as President of the Independent Social Support Agency final. The Management Committee regrets her departure but assures that the Agency will keep working without interruption.
Since 2015, the Agency has helped students from families facing serious socio-economic challenges. Currently, there are 1,800 applications waiting for the academic year 2025/2026. The Committee promises that the evaluation process will go on without delays, ensuring no eligible student misses out on support.
The Audit Service’s regulation for donations over €20,000 is now in effect, which requires donor consent before sharing details. All sponsorships go through the Central Bank, and the General Auditor has confirmed that all scholarships since 2015 are fully legal. Donor names remain undisclosed due to legal restrictions, as stated by a ruling from the Supreme Constitutional Court.
The Agency emphasizes that its credibility and social mission are essential and will continue as usual for the benefit of students.
