Former Paphos mayor Savvas Vergas has publicly challenged current Mayor Phaedon Phaedonos on social media. He wants clear answers.
In his post, Mr. Vergas talks about a period of ‘twelve whole years’, where he claims to have faced serious accusations and harsh comments from Mr. Phaedonos. He says these comments were made in the media and during public statements, visits, and meetings of the Paphos Municipal Council.
The former mayor mentions that he stayed silent and tolerant for a long time, but now he is changing his approach. In his post, he shares photos of documents he says are from Annie’s Facebook posts, which he believes support his claims.
Mr. Vergas strongly challenges the Mayor of Paphos, asking him to explain himself. ‘Prove to us that you are clean after all these below. I await your response,’ he states firmly, wrapping up his message.
So far, the Mayor of Paphos has not publicly responded to the former mayor’s claims.
It’s important to note that for a while now, information and posts on social media have been spreading against Mayor Phaedon Phaedonos, with no public reaction or statement from him yet.
Annie has also made accusations. She is known for her online denunciations against various officials in Cyprus. Her posts have previously sparked strong reactions and unrest among citizens and authorities, including the police.
