Former Police Chief Kypros Michaelides is back in the news, highlighting the need to investigate Paphos Mayor, Phaedon Phaedonos. He believes the police will reach out to the wanted Ioanna Fotiou (Annie Alexui) to check her claims made in a recent video.

On the show “Alpha Good Morning,” Mr. Michaelides pointed out that the people Annie mentions are well-known in Cyprus. Investigating them is a chance to show that all actions were legal and that the police are doing their job right.

The former Chief shared three important points: everyone is presumed innocent, no one is above the law, and the investigation should confirm either one side’s claims or the other’s innocence. He said he doesn’t want to revisit past events to protect the current investigation but is ready to provide any testimony needed.

About Annie, Mr. Michaelides mentioned he didn’t know her or her story before the videos and allegations surfaced online. He stressed that if her claims weren’t looked into before, they should be now, to clear reputations and assign blame where it’s due.

The former Chief also talked about the police’s skills and tech for checking online information, noting that results will rely on testimonies gathered. He emphasized how sensitive domestic violence cases are and warned against accusing people without enough proof, adding that monitoring and protecting children is vital in any public statement.

Mr. Michaelides reminded everyone that the Phaedonos case isn’t the first involving domestic violence, with the Paphos Mayor involved, making it even more crucial to follow legality and transparency.
