Emmanuel Macron shared a message in Greek on X, showing support for Cyprus.
“The security of all Europeans is our common interest. We quickly took solidarity measures for Cyprus, which faced attacks from multiple drones and missiles.”
The French president mentioned that France sent the frigate Languedoc and a Mistral air defense unit to the area. The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its battle group are now near Cyprus. Before heading back to Paris, he will visit Cyprus for a briefing on the situation.

In the same post, the French president also shared a video of his arrival in Cyprus. He visited the “Andreas Papandreou” airbase in Paphos with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
