The 15th Voluntary Blood Donation by the German Medical Institute and the German Oncology Center was a big success. It sent a strong message of unity and community support during a time when blood is in high demand.
The donation event happened in Day Care Unit 2, from 2 to 5 this afternoon (Wednesday, January 14). Many citizens answered the call. This showed that giving life knows no limits. As mentioned during the event, one unit of blood can save up to three lives, highlighting how important voluntary blood donation is.
A special part of the initiative was the public invitation from Nikos Zamboglou, Founder and Medical Director of the German Oncology Center, to fans of all city teams. The call got a great response, as fans in their team colors came out to donate blood, symbolically bridging their differences.
This scene clearly showed that humanity is more important than fandom when lives are at risk. “In this effort, no one is superfluous,” was the main message, showing that social responsibility and empathy can bring people together from all walks of life.
The Aris Social Care Foundation supported this initiative, making it an event that has become a tradition and continues to inspire us, proving that together we can truly make a difference.
