Cyprus is not a target in the Iran–US–Israel conflict, Iranian ambassador in Nicosia Alireza Salarian said, arguing that Tehran responds only where military infrastructure is used for attacks against Iran.

In remarks to Politis, the diplomat said Iran did not strike Cyprus or other countries mentioned in recent reports, and suggested that some incidents may involve misinformation.

Regarding the drone incident near the British base areas, he stated that, from Iran’s perspective, there is currently no confirmation that bases in Cyprus were used for attacks against Iran. As long as that remains the case, they are not considered a target.

He also stressed that the Republic of Cyprus is not directly or indirectly involved in the war, and reiterated Tehran’s intention to maintain good relations with Nicosia.

The ambassador added that regional stability is critical for Cyprus, especially given tourism, and said further escalation serves no one.
