At the club level, he has been with Envigado, Banfield, Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Everton, Al Rayyan, Olympiacos Piraeus, São Paulo, Rayo Vallecano, and Club León. He has made 516 appearances, netting 127 goals and providing 161 assists.
