A group of AEL fans were surprised by a statement from spokesperson Nikolaos Leventis during a radio show yesterday.
Here’s what he said:
“We plan to bring in another player for the attacking midfield, either as a backup or from the wings. The January transfer period is tough. We need to trust Mr. Damachou, who is always on the phone about this. It depends on what Mr. Martins wants regarding a possible fourth transfer.”
From his words, many felt that getting a left-back is not guaranteed.
Already, classic left-back Wheeler is leaving to join Niki Volos. In the last game, he chose to use Milosavljevic on the left, leaving Imanisimue on the bench.
The transfer window will stay open for another three weeks, and it could turn into a little saga if the Limassol yellows end up signing a pure left-back.
