The Belgian media noticed Hernan Losada’s new role as head coach of Apollon. The Argentine is well-respected by his Belgian peers and shared his thoughts on his early days in Cyprus.
“The team’s facilities are top-notch, from the stadium to the lovely training fields. Limassol is a fantastic city to live and work in,” he told Het Nieuwsblad.
In an interview with Gazet Van Antwerpen, he said:
“I’m really happy to be back coaching and sitting on the bench again. I spent a lot of time with my family and friends recently.”
He also talked about his debut, which included an away win against Freedom24 Krasava ENY:
“We had little time to prepare for this match, but the team showed great maturity and picked things up quickly. It was a tough away game, and this win was key to staying in the top six. Just like in Belgium, we have playoffs here too, so finishing in the top six is crucial.”
Now, Losada is getting ready for his next match on the Apollon bench. It will be his first home game against Pafos at Alphamega Stadium on January 4, 2026. This game is even more challenging and very important for Limassol’s “blue-whites.”
