A violent clash on Saturday night in the Paphos district ended sadly with the death of a 41-year-old Bulgarian man.
According to the police, just before midnight, they got a report about a violent incident in the Peyia area. A 30-year-old man was found outside a house, and a nearby car had visible damage and a broken rear window.
While patrolling, police officers found another vehicle with five people inside. One of them had a serious knife wound. The vehicle was taken to the hospital, where it was confirmed that the injured person was Georgi Marinov Ivanov, aged 41. Despite immediate surgery, he sadly passed away from his injuries early in the morning.
A 28-year-old man in the same vehicle is in the hospital with friction burns and cuts on different parts of his body.
Initial investigations showed that the victim and four others had traveled from Limassol to Paphos to meet the 30-year-old and settle personal issues. During a heated argument, the 30-year-old allegedly attacked the 41-year-old with a knife.
The 30-year-old was arrested under a court warrant and taken into custody. Investigations by the Paphos CID are still ongoing.
