The average rainfall for March has gone up a lot after the storm hit the island from March 20 to 23.
Data from the Meteorological Department shows that by Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026 (08:00), the average rainfall reached 156% of the seasonal norm, a big jump from the 89% recorded on Friday morning, March 20.
During the storm period (March 20-24, 08:00), rainfall levels varied widely by location, from 10.8 to 103.1 millimeters, with Troodos Square getting the most. The average total rainfall for these four days was 41.3 millimeters.

This data shows how much this weather disturbance helped improve the island’s water reserves, at a time when rainfall is key for keeping reservoirs full.
