Kostas… change everything!
Chapter national teams… A painful story. The men’s national team, under the leadership of Akis Mantzios, seems to be making strides lately. We will judge it more strictly in the next tournament.
Speaking of the youth national teams, from U-21 and below, unfortunately, we have been “plummeting” in recent years. The officials of the Cyprus Football Association have tried various approaches without yielding encouraging results that indicate they are on the right track.
A week ago, a move that had been announced 2-3 months ago was officially completed. They appointed Greek Kostas Tsanas as the technical director (only for the youth national teams).
It is impossible for him not to understand that he must roll up his sleeves, as a considerable amount of work awaits him. We hope he is someone who enjoys “breaking eggs.” He should not have come to the island merely for financial reasons, without having goals and visions to connect his name with a change in the operation of the national teams.
We will keep an eye on him and judge him accordingly. The message we send him is… “Kostas, change everything.”
