A modern outdoor space offering contemporary sports facilities, play areas, creative activities, relaxation spots, and extensive green spaces is being developed in the Municipal District of Sotira of the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
This new area is directly linked to significant social and educational infrastructures such as the A’ Primary School of Sotira and the Social Services Center. It aims to improve the quality of life for residents and others. Designed with accessibility and comfort for all ages, it becomes a modern hub for sports, entertainment, and social interaction for both residents and visitors.
The project is implemented under the Cohesion Policy Program “THALEIA 2021–2027”, co-financed by the European Union. It represents a significant intervention for upgrading local services and promoting a modern, human, and sustainable municipality.
The inauguration of the Sports Activities and Healthy Occupation Space will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 15:00, on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, next to the Sotira Social Services Center. During the inauguration, young visitors can participate in free activities, take photos with Santa Claus, enjoy face painting, and have fun with mascots, making it a celebration for the whole family.
The blessing will be conducted by Archimandrite Mr. Avgoustinos Kara from the Holy Metropolis of Constantia – Famagusta, while the inauguration will be declared by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou.
This new space in the Municipal District of Sotira is not just a meeting point but a vibrant community hub, where daily life combines with sports, entertainment, and social interaction for everyone without exception.
