Plans for a new hospital in Polis Chrysochous are moving forward on a defined timeline, according to Mayor Giotis Papachristofi.
As outlined, groundbreaking is targeted for January 2027, with project completion expected by the end of 2028 so the area can receive a modern healthcare facility.
The project has long been a standing demand of the local community, as the existing hospital dates back to the British era and no longer meets current needs.
Officials also stress that healthcare demand is expected to rise in coming years due to the area’s development trajectory, making timely infrastructure delivery a strategic priority.
The recent decision to expropriate the land, together with plans for a 21,000 sq.m. hospital, indicates that implementation is now entering a more concrete phase.
