Serious questions are being raised about the traffic accident in Romania that killed seven PAOK fans. Investigations by the authorities are ongoing.

A Romanian road safety expert says fatigue and drowsiness likely aren’t factors in the accident. Instead, the data suggests a sudden loss of vehicle control, possibly due to distraction or a serious health issue with the driver.

The Romanian police think the minibus might have lightly brushed against the tanker while returning to its lane after overtaking. This could have caused it to swerve into oncoming traffic. However, video evidence shows no collision marks on the back of the vehicle or any sudden loss of control, and the driver didn’t brake at any time.

The idea of drowsiness is also dismissed. Just seconds before the crash, the driver was overtaking, which doesn’t fit with falling asleep. It’s more likely that the driver had a sudden health issue, like a heart attack.

This tragedy hit the PAOK family hard again. A 54-year-old fan in Larissa died from a heart attack after hearing that his friend was among the victims.
