The police are still looking into the alleged abuse case of a woman in Paphos, involving the Mayor of Paphos.
In a statement to the Cyprus News Agency, Police Headquarters Communication Officer Christodoulos Konsolos said, “The police have been investigating since last Sunday. They are gathering testimonies and reviewing evidence related to the alleged abuse of a woman.”
He added that the focus is on getting statements from those involved and assessing available testimonial material.
The investigation started after Ioanna Fotiou (also known as Annie Alexui) shared information on social media. This includes documents claimed to be hospital records, supposedly linked to the political figure.
It’s worth noting that the Mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos, publicly stated he is facing a “relentless war” against him by a “coalition of political and economic corruption and organized crime,” mentioning an “attempt to eliminate him at personal and family cost.”
