In a stern tone, the Cyprus Paralympic Committee called on MEP Feidias Panagiotou to immediately remove its logo from a video about para-athletes circulating on social media.
According to its official statement, the Committee never granted any permission or consent for the use of its emblem in the specific video. The act, it stresses, was carried out without any prior communication and without official authorisation, making it arbitrary and unacceptable.
The Paralympic Committee notes that the unauthorised use of the logo creates a false public impression of collaboration or institutional support, which does not reflect reality.
“Protecting our institutional standing and the prestige of the Paralympic Movement in Cyprus is non-negotiable,” the statement reads, adding that the organisation always operates with transparency and absolute respect towards athletes, sponsors, and society.
The Committee calls on those responsible to publicly clarify that no collaboration or endorsement on its part exists, otherwise reserving all legal rights. It is expected to announce further steps in the coming days.
