The 2nd Pediaios River Sustainability Festival is back in Nicosia! It runs from April 17 to May 10, 2026. This festival brings together organizations, municipalities, and citizens to focus on sustainability.
This year, a big highlight is the nationwide photography contest. It invites everyone to capture the beauty and importance of the Pediaios River.
Participants can submit up to four photos, one for each category. They will compete for awards in four themed sections, sponsored by Cyta. Joining is free and open to all.
Environment Commissioner Antonia Theodosiou says the contest aims to showcase both the natural beauty and human activities along the river. This stretches from its mountain source in Machairas to its end at Famagusta Bay.
The best photographs will be displayed in an exhibition during the festival. This will give a full view of the ‘flow of life’ that defines the Pediaios.
