The Ecumenical Patriarchate has informed the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus that Bishop Tychikos’ second appeal has also been rejected. The appeal challenged the decision that placed him under suspension.
According to the Archdiocese spokesperson, the Synod is now shifting to the next stage: completing internal restructuring steps and advancing the procedure to elect a new Metropolitan of Paphos.
Tychikos had filed a new appeal in late January, again disputing the Synod’s earlier decision. With a second rejection now confirmed, the church process appears to be moving into a clearer institutional settlement phase.
Church officials say Tychikos’ next moves are a personal matter, while the Synod’s institutional focus is to close this chapter and proceed with decisions concerning the future leadership of the Paphos Metropolis.
