Last night, police were out in full force across Cyprus for organized operations in key urban areas.
The goal was to stop serious crimes, keep public order, and make people feel safer. During the checks, eight people were arrested for different offenses like burglaries, thefts, illegal possession of property, and staying unlawfully in Cyprus.
As part of these operations, police stopped 436 vehicles for checks and inspected a total of 585 individuals. They also checked 42 premises, leading to five complaints. During traffic checks, 127 complaints were made for various traffic law violations, with 57 related to speeding.
Additionally, one driver tested positive in a preliminary drug test. Out of 139 alcohol tests, two drivers tested positive. Four vehicles were also impounded during the police checks.

The coordinated police efforts to prevent and tackle crime continue every day with more officers on the streets, targeted checks, and quick action to protect citizens and maintain public order.
