Police continued their targeted operations across Cyprus on Sunday night, leading to three arrests and thorough checks.
According to a statement, these operations had more police presence in key urban areas. The goal was to stop serious crimes, protect citizens, and keep public order.
One person was arrested for causing a road crash, having drugs, and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Two others were arrested for illegal residency and unpaid fines.
Meanwhile, during traffic investigations, five vehicles were seized, and checks were done at various places to stop illegal activities.
On the roads, over 650 checks took place, resulting in 197 complaints. Sixty-five were for speeding, and thirty for running traffic signals.
The police stress that these actions are part of a larger ongoing plan. This includes more checks and quick responses in all districts to boost citizens’ sense of safety.
