The knife used in the brutal murder of 26-year-old Alexandros Antoniou from Paphos is now with the police. He died last Saturday after being stabbed in Konia.
This morning, officers found the murder weapon in a field in Mesogi after checking some tips.
According to SIGMA correspondent Marios Ignatiou, investigators got this information yesterday. They kept the area secure all night.
This morning, police went to the site with help from the Mesogi Community Council, who helped clear the area. They found a knife believed to be used in Alexandros Antoniou’s murder.
The knife was taken as evidence and sent for testing to see if it was really used in the crime.
A 58-year-old Greek Cypriot is currently held as a suspect in this premeditated murder case.
