Last night, police carried out intensive checks in urban areas across Cyprus. These checks aimed to prevent crime and boost citizens’ safety.
The operations led to seven arrests for different offenses, like burglaries, thefts, and illegal residency. In Limassol, five people were arrested: two for breaking into a building to steal, two for stealing vehicles and property, and one for illegal residency.
In Nicosia, one person was arrested for illegal residency in Cyprus. In Paphos, another was arrested for ignoring a Court order.
During these operations, police checked 39 premises. They found four complaints about operating licenses, selling alcohol, and noise issues.
Moreover, over 800 road checks were done, resulting in more than 122 traffic violations. Out of these, 38 were for speeding. Police also conducted over 180 breathalyzer tests, reporting 18 drivers for driving under the influence. Six vehicles were seized during traffic investigations.
The police will keep these operations going as part of a stronger crime prevention plan across all districts.
