A surge of traffic violation reports occurred overnight during extensive police checks in various areas of Cyprus. Among the recorded violations, cases of driving under the influence of alcohol stand out as one of the main causes of serious and fatal traffic collisions.
During the traffic checks conducted, there were 321 reports of various traffic violations, including three cases of driving under the influence of alcohol. In total, 71 breathalyzer tests were conducted on drivers.
As part of the police operations, ten vehicles were seized. Police officers stopped 502 vehicles for checks, inspecting a total of 689 individuals inside them. Additionally, 35 inspections were conducted at premises to address criminal activities, resulting in four reports.
