The Police are warning drivers to be very careful. Icy conditions are reported in mountainous areas and high-altitude spots. This makes the roads slippery, especially in the mornings.
Due to the weather, the roads Pedoulas – Prodromos, Prodromos – Lemythou, and Kakopetria – Pinewood – Pedoulas are only open for four-wheel-drive vehicles or those with snow chains.
Also, landslides are blocking several roads. This includes Kalopanagiotis – Moutoullas – Pedoulas, Kakopetria – Karvouna, Pedoulas – Kykkos – Kampos, Kykkos – Tsakkistras, and Kampos – Orkontas – Kato Pyrgos.
Additionally, roadworks are happening in many areas. This may cause delays or changes in traffic flow.
The Police advise drivers to be extra cautious. Follow traffic signs and instructions. Drive slower to prevent accidents and collisions.
