The Board of Directors of RIK decided not to make Elmos Neokleous permanent, ending his relationship with the semi-state channel, following the completion of a disciplinary investigation that began during his probationary period.
As is already known, Mr. Neokleous denies the charges against him. His probationary period, which began in April 2025, was extended by one year by the Board of Directors to complete the investigation. During the same period, General Director Thanasis Tsochos was also under disciplinary investigation, but he was fully acquitted and returned to his duties.
With the completion of the investigation and evaluation of the findings, the Board of Directors decided not to proceed with making Mr. Neokleous permanent. Mr. Neokleous was appointed by the previous Board of Directors in 2022 and, according to the law for public servants, his probationary period was extended to complete the disciplinary process.
