Last night, the Cyprus Police stepped up their presence in key urban areas across the island. This was part of their ongoing efforts to prevent serious crimes, protect citizens, and keep public order.
During these operations, seven people were arrested.
In Limassol, two individuals were caught for robbery and theft. Another person was detained due to an outstanding arrest warrant.
In Larnaca, one person was arrested for having illegal drugs, and another was taken in for a pending warrant.
In the Famagusta district, one individual was arrested for assaulting a police officer and for traffic offenses. Another was arrested for illegal drug possession.
Additionally, 39 inspections were carried out at various premises to prevent and address delinquent behavior.
For road safety, over 500 checks were done on the roads, leading to more than 90 traffic complaints. Out of these, 27 were for speeding violations.
Moreover, seven vehicles were seized for further investigation related to traffic offenses.
These actions are part of a larger plan by the Police to enhance prevention efforts. They are focused on being operationally ready and conducting targeted checks in all districts. The aim is to prevent crime and boost public security.
