Serious issues have arisen in the Unrecognized Republic of Northern Cyprus due to heavy rainfall overnight. Overflowing streams and dams have caused flooding on roads and properties, with landslides also reported.
In occupied Nicosia, a main road is closed between a school and a hospital, while in Kioneli, a dam that was empty for a long time has overflowed. The flood risk in the Mesaoria plain and Famagusta is considered high.
In Kyrenia, streams overflowed in 2–3 locations, and a landslide occurred on the road from Agios Epiktitos to Kythrea. Authorities urge residents to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
