For the second time within a few days, the Kato Paphos seafront was hit by severe weather, including strong winds and heavy sea surge.
Seawater entered local shops, while parts of the coastal road were covered with stones, sand, and seaweed.
Business owners began cleanup efforts early in the day as Paphos municipal crews worked in parallel to clear and restore public spaces.
The incident has revived concerns over insufficient coastal protection in the area, particularly after the earlier removal of a low protective wall along the shoreline.
Local traders and residents are calling for more effective engineering safeguards to reduce damage during future extreme weather events.
