The “Avakas Gorge” trail will be closed starting Saturday because of the weather.
The Department of Forests from the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment wants to inform everyone that due to weather conditions, there is increased water flow, slippery ground, and a risk of falling rocks and soil. So, the “Avakas Gorge” in Akamas National Forest Park will stay closed from December 6 until it is safe for visitors.
The Department of Forests apologizes for any trouble this may cause. They say this closure is important for everyone’s safety. They will let you know when the gorge is completely safe to visit again.
