Today, six defendants accused of murdering businessman Stavros Demosthenous are in court. They are appearing before the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol under strict security measures. This is their first time together in court after previous separate hearings.
The 49-year-old was killed in October 2025 in Sfalangiotissa, just a few meters from his home. Investigators believe three of the defendants helped out, while the other three, who are Greek from Georgia, were key players in the murder plan.
Authorities say that a 28-year-old defendant is the main person behind the murder. A relative is accused of helping him escape after the crime.
