If you’re in a family of four, suggesting a day out can be tricky. It might cost two days’ wages. Sadly, taking the family out for some fun often feels like a financial strain.
But there are plenty of outings and entertainment options that can be super cheap or even free if you plan right.
End your day without your wallet feeling as hurt as your heart after a breakup.
The Limassol area — beyond the malls, beach bars, and coffee spots — has quiet, hidden corners. These are places for walks, play, exploration, and that rare chance to spend time together without a schedule.
Here are six such spots. They’re not flashy or Instagram-ready. But they’re genuine.
Polemidia Forest
Polemidia Forest is like that friend who never posts but is always around. It doesn’t promise miracles but gives you shade, trees, and space for kids to roam without hearing “MOM!” every few minutes (what does my little one want now?).

You don’t do “activities” here. You just… relax. And doing nothing as a family is often the best choice.
Bring water bottles and snacks and pretend to be the “Indiana Jones” family.
Mesa Potamos Waterfalls
If your kids are in an “explorer” mood, this is the spot. Mesa Potamos doesn’t scream “tourist attraction.” It softly invites you to see something beautiful.
A little walking, flowing water, and trees all around make everyone speak more quietly — without anyone asking them to. And soft voices… that’s a gift you shouldn’t miss.

Mesa Potamos Picnic Area
This isn’t a fancy picnic with tablecloths and Pinterest vibes. It’s a picnic with homemade sandwiches, crumbs on the ground, and that lovely silence that makes you forget your phone (sort of).
If your child asks “what are we doing here?”, just say: “Absolutely nothing — and it’s perfect.”

Kaledonia Trail
Yes, it’s popular. But if you visit early on weekdays or off-season, it changes completely.
The trail tells stories. The water becomes music. Kids start collecting things “for their collection,” even if they shouldn’t put them in their pockets… but they do anyway.

Paramali Beach
This isn’t a beach for sunbeds and umbrellas. It’s a beach for bare feet in the sand, where kids can run wild, and parents can think “finally, space.” Run as far as you can see. I mean our eyes so we can keep an eye on you.
It doesn’t have much. And that’s why it has everything you need.

Kouris Dam
Kouris Dam is perfect when you want to say “let’s go for a walk” without any pressure. You get views, open skies, peace, and the feeling that you don’t need to do anything to enjoy yourself. That’s true for almost all the spots on our list.

Free entertainment doesn’t mean boring entertainment. It’s fun without noise, no timers, and no receipts from activities that don’t offer much more in the end.
Sometimes these slightly overlooked places remind us why we wanted family Sundays in the first place.
