Annita Demetriou, the Speaker of the House, visited Acropolis Park. She was there to support an event for people, especially children. Non-profit organizations with a rich history teamed up to create a fun day filled with games, creativity, and kindness for everyone.
Instead of just giving a formal greeting, the Speaker joined in on the fun. She played with the kids and even tried an impromptu kick with a ball — a spontaneous and friendly gesture. However, this moment led to comments and criticism online, with some users focusing more on her kick than on the event’s purpose.
Meanwhile, the park was alive with smiles, laughter, children’s voices, face painting, games, and visits from beloved characters. The organizations Little Heroes, Association “Children with Liver Diseases – George Psaras,” Pancyprian Anti-Leukemia Association “ZOE,” and the Cyprus Girl Guides Association created a warm and festive atmosphere, sending a strong message of support and hope.
The children also played their part in the charitable effort, showing that giving can be colorful and joyful — it doesn’t always have to be serious.

At the end of the day, when children smile and the cause is good, whether the kick scored or missed is just… a detail. The real victory happened elsewhere.
